Gay Marriage Essays
Recent essays, analysis and responses to news developments on Gay Marriage--from my blog.
Freedom to Marry
The group leading the charge to end this immoral ban. All the latest news, links, opinion pieces, and action opportunities. (And if you're telling others about it, it's a .org address.)
Brokeback Mountain
If any piece of pop culture is every likely to illustrate to a straight person the need for gay marriage, and click the light bulb that it's exactly the same for gayguys as it is for straightboys, this is it. (Hopefully they can make the same leap for lesbians, which for most of them is a bit less unsettling to begin with.)
Missing Out on My American Dream
HRC is doing a pretty good job on the gay marriage debate, but they consistently turn to the rational appeal, and I think people will really be won over by the emotional--what it means for gay men and women like us to be denied one crucial element of the bond with our soulmate. This is my very personal essay on why marrying a man means so much to me. |

An archive of recent news coverage of gay marriage.
Chip & Reichen
My recent blog essays on Chip & Reichen, the first true heroes in the fight for the right for the rest of us to marry. (Lots of photos sprinkled in.)
The Media Needs to Lead
My essay on why I believe TV and other media need to be out front on gay marriage, and why we may have to wait a bit until we push the politics. It's titled "Not Yet! We just met Chip & Reichen," and is built around the pioneering Reichen and Chip marriage on CBS' The Amazing Race. (Though now that the Massachusetts Supreme Court has spoken, there's really no turning back. But we sure as hell need the media now more than ever.)

Join HRC's Million For Marriage initiative here. Demonstrate to Congress that a million Americans support gay marriage. Chip & Reichen Photo Motherload
This site is packed with photos of Chip & Reichen outside the race, apparently from Reichen's mom. Great stuff if you want to see the guys in more relaxed/candid moments. WARNING: The site linked here is for an online gay video store, which also runs discussion boards. When you pull it up, you'll see ads for gay porn videos. It looks like the shots are all PG-13, meaning no exposed body parts below the waist. But there are suggestive shots of groups of guys, men grimacing, etc. If this is likely to offend you, DON'T GO!)
