Justice, Alive and Well Yee-HA! (is that how you spell that?) Look at her go! My So Called Lesbian Life is shooting right up the Salon blog rankings. Very cool. It's nice to find something on the 'net before everyone else.
While I wish that my plug yesterday was responsible, a quick look at the site's referer logs show that I can't claim any credit. I suspect that it has more to do with the fact that the site A) has the word "lesbian" in the title and B) most people on line are men who will go anywhere that has "lesbian" in the title (why do you think I went there?).
Sadly, the site reminds me of college days when I was cool and had gay friends (or--possibly-- cool because I had gay friends). We listened to cool music (remember the Communards? how about Book of Love? Alphaville?), drank cheap wine out of boxes and talked about Kierkegaard or Camus (I said that we were cool, not that we were original). Once a month or so we scraped up enough cash to buy some crackers, caviar, brie and slightly more expensive wine in a box and spent hours mocking people who wore stonewashed jeans.
Today, I have no gay friends, i live in Toledo for God's sake, and the high point of my week is discovering that Wendsday's The West Wing isn't a repeat. I fear that the song "Suburban Drone" by The Capitol Steps is actually about me and the only way I discover new music by watching Volkswagen commercials.
(sigh) I think I need some gay friends.
