All That and a Rabbit Too Penny, of My So Called Lesbian Life needs no help from me defending her blog. My favorite blogs have have a clear voice and a feisty attitude. A point of view that I don't run into everyday on the streets of Toledo is a great too. Plus she has a bunny, and that can't hurt. If you haven't been to her site, give it a shot. If you don't like it, don't go back. Either way, we should all be thankful that vibrant and interesting people like Penny have the opportunity to share whatever they want with us.
As for Salon Blogs becoming clogged with sex sites, I think that a bigger danger is a proliferation of pointless, uninformed political rambling (ahem). But neither disaster is about to befall the weblogs here. Salon has hatched a collection of interesting and varied blogs, and if Penny is any indication of what is to come, then I think we all have a lot to look forward to.
