That's an Interesting Strategy The national GOP might want to have a little chit-chat with the Republican running to unseat the Toledo area's long-serving Democratic Representative, Marcy Kaptur. In today's Blade, Larry Kaczala outlined his plan to defeat the incumbent: highlight the shitty economy.
The race is "going to turn on the economy. It[base ']s going to turn on the number of jobs lost and the high unemployment rate we have here in Ohio," Mr. Kaczala said. "Both of my parents were 30-year UAW members. The factories that both of my parents worked at are closed. Where are the jobs?"
"Where are the jobs"? A good question, but one better asked, I think, of the party that controls the Ohio Governor's mansion, the Ohio legislature, the US Senate, and the US House of Representatives. Ms. Kaptur is an experienced campaigner, and I suspect that she will relish the opportunity to discuss the lack of job growth in NW Ohio and the entire country. This might be one House race the President stays well clear of.
I wonder how long Mr. Kaczala's "vote for me because my party has an unblemished record of ignoring the working men and women of Ohio!".
