I live in Toledo, Ohio, with my wife, Lisa and our son Gabe (he's two). Gabe is the reason I haven't been back to Greece in three years--money is the least of it, since a two-year old can suck up time and energy like a sailor sucks up rum. I try to (and generally fail at) keep two other blogs running:The Agora, mostly uninteresting political ranting, and Seeing Toledo, originally a photoblog about Toledo, but now just infrequent thoughts about my home town. When time and money permit, I travel around to visit Frank Lloyd Wright and Frank Gehry buildings and Alexander Calder sculptures.
As for Greece, I'm not much of an expert, though I love the place with all of my heart. I've travelled there three times in the last 13 years, and I'm hoping to return in the Spring of 2005. My first trip to Greece was to attend The American School of Classical Studies in Athens, and to work as a volunteer at the Agora excavations also in Athens. I have degrees in Classics and History, though my primary interests were Early Christianity and history of New Testament scholarship and translation.
