Had a bit of a ticking off from my boss today at work. Well, he sounded pissed off, anyway. I don't think it was actually at me in particular, he's just a tad stressed at the moment because everyone's quitting on him (including the previous boss, which is why he's the boss now but doesn't really want to be). Unfortuantly, the more stressed / excited he gets the stronger his African accent gets and the less I can understand him, hence me saying he sounded pissed off - I have no idea if he asked me to do anything in particular, I just nod, make polite noises, carry on as before...
I was wondering why we seemed a bit short on staff these days, I could have sworn there used to be more people around. Turns out that a bunch of people have left, using either the bad weather or Chinese New Year as an excuse to take a day off, then another day off, then another, then oh, sod it, it's hardly worth turning up anymore... Now the only people left are the group of African imigrants, who actually depend on this job for their living, and me, who relies on this job for a bit of extra cash while I figure out something better to do. You can understand them getting a tad pissed off.
