I think this teaching thing is going okay so far... Wednesday went okay - I spent a couple of hours in classrooms as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) shadowing another LSA. There's a teacher in the classroom, too, plus maybe 30 children, maybe another specialist helper, so if the classroom itself is a bit small it can get quite a squeeze...
Anyway, after Wednesday I was officially hired as a part-time LSA, 10 hours a week at £5 per hour. That's two whole school days (5 hours plus unpaid hours lunch break), which is actually fine by me as it means I have the flexibility to go and get another job that I can work around this one.
It looks like I'll be expected to assist children in classrooms, plus be a bit of an extra IT support chappy on top of that, hopefully take some strain off the IT support department itself. Thankfully it's half term next week, so I get the week free to just do the last week of my Tesco job. I didn't make Aikido again tonight as I must sleep. Sleeeeep...
