Ever had one of those days? No, not one of those days (those ones where stuff keeps going bad), but one of those other days (those ones where good stuff keeps happening). For a start, I managed to keep my temper with the buffing machine at work today when it simply stopped working. Okay, it might just have been that I was simply too tired to be able to get angry with it, but whatever...
Then, this afternoon I decided to nip down Mill Road to buy a new inkjet printer cartridge. Blow me if there isn't a whole shop just opened down there dedicated to selling nothing but cheap inkjet supplies. It's kind of weird, walking into a shop containing nothing but racks of printer cartridges and paper, but the owner is really helpfull and the prices are really good - £15 got me one colour and two black inkjet cartridges. Likle, wow! I got a free sample paper pack, too. Along with Cambridge Computer Resale a few metres down the road, this must make Mill Road one of the best places for budget computing supplies.
Anyway, not having much money right at the moment I've had to implement strict purchasing limitations on frivilous stuff like booze. Today I had £1.51 to split between a pint of milk and a bottle of beer. A pint of milk was 32p, and you don't generally get much in the way of beer for £1.19. However, walking into the Jug & Firkin I spied a crate on the floor with the message "Slightly out of date" on it - hooray, a bottle of beer for 80p! That leaves 39p to go back in the pot for another day.
And to top it all off, coming back home the traffic lights turned to red to let me cross over the road just as I got to them. Couldn't ask for more, really.
