My first full day working as a Learning Support Assistant at Parkside Community College today. Being well-organised for my first day I turned up with a clean shirt, neatly pressed trousers, shiny new breifcase... and no lunch. Blast, and I was doing so well, too.
All the children were sleepy after half-term - they must have been used to sleeping in until 3pm all week or something. After the Tesco job has finished I'm jetlagged, waking up at 3am ready to go to work, so I was a bit dozy first thing, too. Had a cup of coffee from the staff room at break time, though - YIPES! that stuff is strong! Felt hyperactive for the next two lessons, starving hungry at lunch time (had to buy two child-sized portions portions from the canteen), then had a headache all afternoon.
