 Ah ha! As luck would have it, I happened to have occasion to look at the contents of an old Zip disk the other day, and found, of all things, a picture of me leaning on a Dalek. It was taken while I was doing my not-particularly-succesful MSc project at the University of Reading's Cybernetics lab. Compare the two: America gets MIT, full to the brim of smart people doing Earth-changing (and expensive) research. Britain gets Reading, sparsly populated with a couple of blokes fiddling with a (cheap) automatic window opener.
