Ah, Britain. Britain, Britain, Britain. Cups of tea, the Queen, rather dull national anthem, and rain on bank holidays. Lots and lots of rain. Oodles of the damn stuff. Went for a bit of a run today, and it rained practically the whole time. It would have been okay but I was out for a couple of hours (only meant to take a turn around Cherry Hinton, but some idiot went and parked an airport in the way, which took some time to get around).
Actually, it was while I was out running yesterday that I bumped into Mike Edie, fellow blogger, ex-workmate and all-round nice chap (have to say that last bit, he did, after all, invite me along to his barbeque). So yesterday turned out to be quite a nice day, sitting in Mike's back garden eating, drinking and chatting. Oh, and getting bubbles squirted at me by small children with snazzy sound-making bubble-squirting machines. Ha! In my day we made do with those small plastic blow-through widgets and thought ourselves lucky...
This weekend I have mostly been doing some video editing. I've got around 15 hours wirth of footage from the Aikido seminar last month to go through. My trusty old PIII, 1GHz, Win2K, 256MBRAM, 30GBHDD laptop is actually coping remarkably well with the whole business. A PCMCIA card to add Firewire support installed in seconds, the camera plugged in, and away we went. Now all I've got to do is edit the damn stuff. It's taken me so far (from Friday evening to Monday afternoon) to edit 1 hours worth and get it on to DVD. I'm going to be all year at this rate...
