In what twisted conspiracy did the clown in the White House manage to be named as the "most admired man in America"? Did they only poll SUV and Lexus owners? His fake war and fake tax cuts are transparent political ploys to prop up his popularity (sorry, I was too far into the alliteration mode to stop).

The news of the Bush-league tax giveaway is nauseating. The elimination of taxes on corporate dividends would overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest 5 percent of taxpayers. Sixty-four percent of that change would benefit 5 percent!

Half of the tax benefits in Bush's program would benefit the wealthiest 10%, according to a New York Times article, and the wealthiest 1%, who earn an average $1 million per year, would see their taxes reduced by about $32,000. In other words, Bush wants to buy every millionaire a new car!

Will someone in that pinhead, greed-head administration ever come to understand that THE RICH DON'T NEED ANY MORE MONEY! They already have the majority of it. If someone has earned a lot of money that's fine - but they don't need government giving them more.

It's the poor people of the country and the world who need it. It's the people who scrape by paycheck-to-paycheck who could use that $32-thou. That money could go a long way toward feeding some of the world's starving or educating children or even something as radical as protecting the environment. That seems of more long-term benefit that boosting sales at Williams-Sonoma or the Pottery Barn.

This is the "easy" president. It's easier to fight Saddam than our real enemy, bin Laden. It's easier to trash environmental regulations than come up with solutions. It's easier to throw money at Republican campaign contributors than to do the really diffcult, intellectually challenging work of doing the right thing for those who need it most. But, of course, poor or nearly poor people don't finance elections.

OK. I'm done ranting. I feel better. For now.
