Lord, the Bushies are idiots! Donald Rumsfeld, our "President's" Secretary of Defense, opined that draftees added "no value" to the U.S. Military. That was two weeks ago. This week he apologised to the tens of thousands of draftee veterans from World War Two, the Korea and Vietnam wars. In a letter, Rumsfeld said "The last thing I would want to do is disparage the service of those draftees." Fool. 5:15:14 PM  Comments?()

Alcohol and telephones don't mix. That, at least, ought to be the lesson learned by a Westlake, Ohio man who had been drinking his share and my share, too. For whatever reason, John M. decided to make a prank call. Lying on his bed, he dialed a random number, said a few things and promptly fell asleep. Problem "1 - the random number he dialed was the police chief's. Problem #2 - he didn't hang up before he fell asleep. While he snored, the chief had his buddies down at the station trace the call. Problem #3 - his roommate didn't say he was out. When the police showed up, the roommate said,"Yeah, he's upstairs." He sure was - sound asleep with the phone in his hand. The cop picked up the phone and the chief was still on the other end. John slept it off in jail, made bail and declined to comment for newspaper reporters. 5:06:11 PM Comments?()
