Biggest Lie of the Day Award
I couldn't resist. George Bush, speaking before the Statue of Liberty tonight, says "There is a line in our time, and in every time, between those who believe that all men are created equal and those who believe that some men and women and children are expendable in the pursuit of power."
People expendable in pursuit of power? Is not that the exact position of ..lets see Karl Rove, urging Republicans to make war a partisan issue... Dick Cheney cutting pension benefits at Halliburton for regular employees, while he gets a golden early retirement...Pres. Bush saying "no child left behind" but then supporting policies that kick teen welfare mothers out of college...He certainly can't mean Texas governors who allow people to be executed for political gain.
Or maybe he means its only Americans who are not expendable. As Donald Rumsfeld said at a press briefing denying reports of civilian casualties in Afghanistan "One of the unpleasant aspects of war is the reality that innocent bystanders are sometimes caught in the crossfire."
I know Bush can have trouble articulating, but did he really mean to declare war on himself??
