Kathy to Hilary, July 22, 1972 cont., Tehran, Iran Of course Bob S. has long hair and smokes dope! How many of the Specially Education Monkeys In A Room turned out to be heads? At least one or two--can you see Chris S. (remember?) or Pudge with long hair and love beads? Is Lindy still around and is he still the coolest guy around? And Chesnut? Who, of all of us, is still left in Arlington? I’m curious and even if you don’t care, can you tell me a little gossip? After all, those WERE the good old days on Station Wagon 14, with the gentle Sarge and the tyrannical Sir Kay. I was looking at old Cavaliers a week ago--how the world has turned since then.

A week ago I was left alone in the house for three days as the rest of the family went to Tabriz and Lake Rezayieh. I had summer school exams. They actually t r u s t e d me. The general rule about no male visitors is to be expected and not very unreasonable. But what is reason in the face of higher things? And very sorrowfully I broke their trust.
I haven’t been doing especially much this summer, we have four more days of summer school. I’ve been taking Chemistry and Theory of Knowledge. Johnny and I are in both classes together. For awhile we had two different chemistry teachers, but the first one became in a certain way (the family way) so now we have four hours of utter hell listening to an extremely corpulent German drone on. I’m taking Chemistry because I won’t have a chance to with Bio II next year, and I thought I ought to know something about it if I’m going to be serious about biology, which I’m starting to be, but I think I know less now than when I started.
