Hilary to Kathy, April 3, 1973 cont., Arlington, VA Unfortunately Peter T. (I may have written about him last year) was ALSO put on the waiting list. Shall I tell you the SAD tale of Peter T? (I can almost hear you screaming NO!! from Tehran…)
I liked him last year (I told you this was going to thrill you….) Had my eye on him for some time. Finally met him at a crew meet in April – got him to drive me home. Unfortunately EVERYONE thought I was crazy & told me that he was DUMB DUMB DUMB!! So I decided to forget him and honestly believed that I hated him.
In November of this eventful year – One Jon S., in my English 12 class, casually inquired as to whether I would go out with Peter T. I gave him a cold (OOH! ICEY!) look and said haughtily “I sincerely doubt it”. At the time I did not know that Peter and Jon were GOOD FRIENDS.
I found out when Shauna & Patty & I went to Woodlawn (Arlington’s free school) one Friday evening to view a presentation of Women’s liberation films – Peter and Jon came – We were amazed!!! I was told that Peter kept staring at me – What did I say? “BIG SHIT!”
