Huh?

Okay, someone's going to have to explain this one to me. The following is on the back of a package I bought of "Yum Yum"-brand soft beef jerky, imported from Australia ("THE GREAT NEW TASTE FROM AUSTRALIA'S MULTICULTURAL MENU"):

The meat contained herein is for personal use only and not for sale. It is derived from animals that received antemortem and postmortem veterinary inspection and were found sound and healthy in every way...

For personal use only? Not for sale? Buh?

Big--and I Mean Big-- in Japan

Bob Sapp

Former NFL player Bob Sapp (aka "The Beast") (R), now a popular martial arts hero and celebrity, poses for a photo with a Japanese woman at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan in Tokyo, June 24, 2003. In less than a year, Sapp has gone from NFL wash-up in U.S. to marketing tsunami in Japan, where his image as a kind-hearted kick boxer is being used to sell everything from alarm clocks and pizza to wide-screen televisions and slot machines. Another "Only in Japan" phenomenon I've never quite been able to understand. More later when I have something to say.
