Just got a book called Kwangju Diary. It's about an uprising in South Korea in May 1980 that ended in the death of hundreds at the hands of the military government. I first heard of it recently in the context of Jimmy Carter's Nobel prize. Some commentators brought up the subject of the US government's non-intervention as Carter's skeleton in the closet. The book's a good format to read on a stationary bike, so I should get plenty of time to read it. Book report in a week or so.
