In a posting about Republican icon Austin Stack, John of 1169 and Counting mentions that Stack was elected as a Sinn Fein TD five times and adds
It must be noted that Austin Stack was each time elected to an All-Ireland Dail , not a 26-County institution calling itself 'Dail Eireann' . I don't think this is accurate -- the first two elections would have been to the First and Second all-Ireland Dails, but the third, fourth, and fifth elections were indeed to the 26-County assembly. Since Stack (like all Republicans at the time) did not recognize the legitimacy of the Free State, he refused to take his seat after those elections.
