Burned out house still there...

I talked to L, who lives next door to the burned out house.  He told me that 'they' found several guns in the house after it burned down.  I didn't think until now that I should have asked who 'they' is:  the police, the firemen, neighborhood scavengers or what.  In addition L reported that M, who lives on my side two doors down, came home one night around 11:00 and saw two guys standing around in the front yard of the house.  This was before it burned down.  As M passed, one of the guys turned around to see who it was and as he turned M saw that he was nonchalantly holding an assault rifle.

It also turns out that the story that one of the guys living there was the son of the owner was a false rumor.  They were just renters.  Early 20's guys driving expensive cars and owning several guns and computers, but living in a junky, borderline-condemned house in a semi-bad neighborhood.  Draw your own conclusions.

My guess is that somebody was mad at the guys who lived there and torched the house to get even with them.  Supposedly they didn't have renters insurance.

Meanwhile, the house still stands.  Some guy came by yesterday and took in one of those gizmos that has a wheel at the end of a long handle that you use to measure rooms and real estate.  I had to leave so I couldn't see what he was up to.  Measuring something, I guess.
