In yesterday's column for Salon, Sidney Blumenthal, remarked that Paul O'Neill, in his new book, The Price of Loyalty, sees Bush as a bully, using nicknames to demean people.

I did a full court bluster on Mr. Bush's use of nicknames to position important people as subordinates not too many posts ago, and was reprimanded by a Blog comment that concluded with the line, "Please at least attempt to give your views some perspective." Oh, really?

In today's (1.15.04) Los Angeles Times, the lead story with a headline in, I guess, 60 pt. type, was 'WORLDS BEYOND ARE GOALS OF BUSH SPACE PLAN." (As an aside, it was welcome news for Brown and Root, which has billions of dollars in contracts with NASA.) Toward the end of the first section, the real news appeared on Page 11 and, yes, it was more coverage of long-time Republican Paul O'Neill's opinion of the current Administration. It was printed on a right hand page, I'll give them that.

How the anonymous they were able to hang the word, "liberal" on today's ultra-conservative media, filled me with shock and awe. We know that the majority of owners and boards of television and radio news programs, newspapers and news magazines are conservative. Very conservative. They throw liberals an occasional bone so as not to appear too blatant.
