THE MACHINE THAT ATE AMERICA
Out of a job? Not to worry. You will soon find work in the behemoth military Machine being constructed by the Republicans. Even today, the job picture would be far worse if not for the policing, controlling, attacking, and killing Machine already cranking up.
Simple enough. Create a "war on terror" that can never end, add preemptive attacks on countries labeled dangerous, and the military Machine will lumber into being--a clanking Gotzilla--big enough to accommodate all of those now unemployed by downsizing, outsourcing, off shore manufacturing, and all the small businesses and people who once depended on these jobless citizens for a living. The Machine needs more than troops and ordnance. It needs office workers, security specialists, scientists, doctors, nurses, techs, cooks, busboys, housekeepers, plumbers, electricians--in short, the Machine needs every able-bodied person. Even the hospitals and nursing homes that care for the aged and infirm will be staffed by recruits hired by the Machine.
People employed by the Machine are loyal to the people who created the Machine. Result: the political party that built the Machine controls us.
A few dictionary definitions of fascism: Fascism: A system of government characterized by rigid one-party rule…belligerent nationalism…militarism.
That's three out of six so far.
