A QUOTE FROM "VIEWPOINT" BY MARY ROSS
Reprinted from San Luis Obispo Tribune
"...Learning Disability: The individual will display inadequacies in intellectual, social and psychologial activities because of disrupted processes in cognition. The individual's frame of reference is not the reality of any given situation, but rather their skewed perception based on how their brains receive and process information. These faulty systems can be in the visual, auditory (both receptive and expressive), kinesthetic and social domains.
Soft signs include an inability to speak fluently, mispronunciations, mispellings, inappropriate comments or behavior, lack of empathy or sympathy, bordering on the sociopathic, dismissal of criticism and advice, and an inability to ever admit mistakes. The individual often lies or twists the truth to accommodate his/her perception of reality. The individual feels invincible and cannot understand how others could doubt or question him/her.
....Any of this sound like someone you know?..."
