...The Los Angeles Times today devoted a fair amount of space to the wink that was seen around the world.
The writer supposed all kinds of reasons for Sarah Palin's wink such as flirting, negating something she just said, or signaling, or just being cute. They noted that Palin winked seven times during her speech. Yet not one mention was made of the word, "tic", as if the writer or editor had never heard of involuntary facial movements associated with an often unimportant physical problem, or a 'learned" habit caused by stress. A poker player might call it a "tell,"albeit a pretty obvious one.
One would think writers and reporters would have a little store of knowledge tucked away somewhere; Even an inkling of how the body and mind work would help.
