The Devil's Excrement
Observations focused on the problems of an underdeveloped country, Venezuela, with some serendipity about the world (orchids, techs, science, investments, politics) at large. A famous Venezuelan, Juan Pablo Perez Alfonzo, referred to oil as the devil's excrement. For countries, easy wealth appears indeed to be the sure path to failure. Venezuela might be a clear example of that.

Breaking news.-The TSJ does not accept the injuction against the "morochas"

So the dream is over. In a 6-1 vote the TSJ refused the injuction (Amparo) against the electoral trick of the "Morochas" by which a majority party gets more than its share of the vote. You can read the news here:

This means that Chavez's party will be able to use the trick to get more than its share of the seats in the December 4 National Assembly elections and end up with an absolute majority in Congress. This will allow Chavez to change the Constitution as he wishes..

Those that were dreaming that the totally Chavez dominated TSJ would rule against the Twins were...just dreaming.
