Salon's executive editor Gary Kamiya is basically reiterating everything I've been saying.
Given what I've read and seen of this president and this administration, the lies do not surprise me. The arrogant, "because I said so" attitude does not surprise me. What I don't understand is the Democrats.
Democrats are on the intelligence committees that are hearing the deafening lack of evidence. They have to have heard the reports of "cooked books". And they have to have read the polls that show Americans support weapons inspections and multilateral action over unilateralism.
So why are they abdicating their Constitutional responsibilities and handing over unprecedented powers to a chief executive whose claims to fame include going AWOL from a cushy Air National Guard post and stealing an election?
We need more members of Congress like Pete Stark.
