| Status Update on My Pain and Suffering
One of the best thing about blogging is the ability to multi-whine. I find it very meaningful to be able to share my discontents to as many people as possible. I know that when I go to sleep tonight, people all over the world will be murmuring "poor mark". There's a healing power there which can't be denied. It's just darn good medicine for everyone involved.
Well here's some good news: Virtual Occoquan is not totally wiped out, and thanks to the people at Earthlink, to the casual observer it looks as good as new. (Maybe better than new, since this issue has cover art by the lovely and talented Dr. Omed). There is still what I like to call "one small f*ing problem", and that is the fact that the site can't be edited or updated in any way. But me, I say what the heck, let's laminate it and make it into a centerpiece.
Fried Green al-Qaedas has temporarily gone through a name change. Not to protest the unfairness of the universe, as some of you may think. Indeed it is a celebration of an event so big that it may give a karmic upgrade to each and every one of us; such is the force of Art. (and that's with a capitol A). Catholic Net sees the Passion of Christ as nothing less than a vote on, uh, I'm not sure what but something darn important.
Please make sure to see it by SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28th. When you go to a movie opening weekend, it´s as if you´re casting a vote for that movie. And the ballot box closes on Saturday night. If you wait a week or two to avoid lines, you are throwing away your vote. Hollywood will already have decided whether that movie is a hit or a flop by the time they count the Saturday night grosses. And later business will not change the first impression.
WWJD if he stopped by the Hoback household today. Since he would know that I had been around for longer than two days, he would offer me sage advice on just how to fix my Radio Weblog. If he understood the software. See, my weblog actually does exist somewhere, and you can actually reach January and February just by typing in a date like this: http://blogs.salon.com/0001424/2004/02/12.html I'll just bet that someone can help me recapture the memories! |
