Judge Proves to be 'Half a Twit'

New York Judge Roberto Gigante has won the prestigious Lance Ito award for embarrassing comments beyond the call of duty made while sitting on the bench.

Gigante is presiding over the case of doctor Gil Lederman, the physician who embarrassed colleagues around the world when he asked former Beatle George Harrison to autograph a guitar for his son while Harrison was on his death bed. Lederman had filed for a change of venue, claiming that the charge was so embarrassing that he could not get a fair trial in New York.

Gigante agreed, but not before one-upping Lederman by putting his ruling in a statement embarrassing enough that experts agree that further attempts at humor are unnecessary in this piece. To wit:

"Something in the folks he treats
Attracts bad press like no other doctor
He's in our jurisdiction now
He gets Beatle autographs somehow
And all I have to do is move this trial
Somewhere they don't know George Harrison
If this case I were to keep
Defendant would gently weep."

Black Friday Falls on Friday This Year

Happy housewife Kim Westerling braves the malls to shop for that special dress to wear to upcoming holiday get-togethers.

Malls cautiously opened for the scariest day of the year as Zombies lined up for doorbuster specials as early as 3 AM. "Well, yeah," said Ed Brewster, stock boy for the Best Buy on Arlington Road in Clemonsburg. "$29.95 is a great price for a DVD player. But we only have 10 at that price. Says so right in the ad, plain as day. And half of these folks will get stomped senseless fighting over those."

Ed lit a crumpeled cigarette and shivered in anticipation of the 6 AM opening. "They don't know that they're dead. It's like, they come here out of habit. It reminds them of a world they've lost.
