Police Apologize, Defend
Their Judgment

The Los Angeles Police Department issued a
public apology for holding Jack 'The Joker' Napier in custody on suspicion
of child molestation. He was released after approximately four hours.
"It's a natural mistake," said Chief Ralph
Wiggins. "We saw him loitering around the playground near Morningside
Heights, and we just thought that it was Michael Jackson. You know, with a
hat on. But it wasn't Jackson after all, just poor old Mister Napier whose
face was horribly disfigured in an industrial accident. Who knew?" |
