Ten Commandments Robe Causes Stir

The Mobile Register -- Two days after Presiding Circuit Court Judge Ashley McKathan donned a robe in court displaying the Ten Commandments on his chest, staffers were busy fielding calls from media outlets and supporters across the nation...

"What sort of name is Ashley for a guy?," asked a number of callers, but these calls were considered distractionary and staffers quickly and efficiently terminated their conversation.

No, most of the calls were those of praise or envy, both enjoyed in equal amounts by Judge Ashley. "Where can I get me one of those ten commandment robes," was a major theme according to staffer Betty Grisham, who added that there were also a number of judges looking for just one or two special commandments, but with larger print.

Judge Ashley's robe has already started a mini-fad throughout the Florida judiciary. Judges have been seen wearing robes with messages as diverse as 'The Bill of Rights' and 'The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam'.
