Miami Man Tries To Spoil
Presidents Day

tavern owner Vince Gonzales is being held on $20,000 bond after attempting
to charge well known presidents Bill Clinton and George HW Bush for
cocktails consumed at his establishment earlier today. Gonzales, a recent
immigrant from Cuba, claimed that he was not aware that it was Presidents
Day, and did not realize that all former presidents are entitled to drink
free on the public holiday.
"Ignorance of the law is no excuse." said
arresting officer Bill Paxton, who was the first policeman on the scene at
the Happy Flamingo. "Can you imagine these two great Americans walking into
a bar - not just on Presidents Day, but any day, for Christ sake - and being
charged? If you got any sense at all, you hustle up a camera and take a few
pictures".
Clinton took the incident in stride. "I've
lost a lot of weight, so it's possible the man didn't recognize me. And
George was wearing shades. But after we showed him our presidential IDs,
that should have been the end of it".
"My friend is being overly charitable," said
Bush. "After all we've done for the country, we should at least be entitled
to a couple beers". |
