WASHINGTON -
Cuts in food programs for the poor are
getting support in Congress as an alternative to President Bush's
idea of slicing billions of dollars from the payments that go to
large farm operations.
Senior
Republicans in both the House and Senate are open to small
reductions in farm subsidies, but they adamantly oppose the deep
cuts sought by Bush to hold down future federal deficits. .....

Well jimmy my giblets, who coulda seen this coming?
Umm, anybody with two brain cells to rub together*. I'll tell you what,
poor folks had better invest in an extra large jar of Vaseline for the
next four years of reaming from the Christian Republican American Family
Party. Guess what, the solid south is crammed full of poor folks who
love the CRAF Party; poor folks who will soon be a little bit hungrier.
And just the other day guess who took one in the butt
from the CRAF wet kiss to credit card companies - the bankruptcy bill?
Yep, the top ten states in bankruptcy per capita - ALL REPUBLICAN RED,
with the reddest of them all, Utah, leading the charge (pun intended).
Golly, the schadenfreude is getting knee deep in here.

"I think Bush's proposed cuts in
farm subsidies will survive the legislative process. Keep in mind that
I also think the Pope is Jewish.
If ever a proposal was designed to
fail, it is this one. 100% policy-free."
