Just thought I'd link directly to the Economist story I referred to on the 27th, highlighting differences in US and EU demographics.

reading it, I think that the Economist boffins were spinning somewhat. Europe, particularly as it expands will become increasingly diverse. And if Turkey ever manages to get in, it will have to engage with a predominently Muslim state in a way that the US hasn't had to do.
