Arts and Letters Daily Dies.
One of my favourite thought collectors, the Arts and Letters Daily has died of lack of cash.
According to a Salon article on one of their editors Denis Dutton, which seems to have fallen out of their archive, the plan was to lure us in with a digest of interesting ideas and to sell us ebooks, and special reprints of high-brow /unreadable works. Any plan involving ebooks in my opinion will always end with a to let sign on your office. So I suppose it was only a matter of time.
I did like them though, although they were steadfast in never featuring anything from tuppenceworth.ie. (Or, more honestly, they were never aware of its existance.)
