inter alia, thanks for bringing this fascinating site to my attention.

I want a news aggregator for this site! Right now this site has two main types of content: posts from other blogs via RSS feeds and my own rants. The former helps me distribute some of the many  good things being blogged these days, the latter helps me vent. I'd like to expand my reach beyond RSS feeds and that's what I need a news aggregator for.

I'm thinking about either NewzCrawler or MacReporter. I'm very tempted by the newly released MacReporter simply because it's in Mac OS X, which I like to use as much as possible. The downside is that Mac OS X is what I use at home, so I'd have to do this from home. This leads to interesting questions concerning how much is this blog for my work and how much is it for me.

NewzCrawler is very popular in the Windows world and I've heard very good things about it. It's the sensible choice.

When I was in competitive intelligence, I used BullsEye Pro regularly. I wonder how many bloggers use tools like that? I know it's more expensive but when I get a bit of money I'll think about it.

RESEARCH TIP: Consider the Source. Today's research tip deals with the importance of thinking about potential sources of information prior to conducting a search. Identifying potential sources of information prior to launching a search contributes to effective, cost-efficient research. [TVC Alert]

This is a great description of a research process which I usually do sub-consciously. It's helpful to be aware of the different methods for finding things in the web (a.k.a. the exploded library).
