Should Librarians Pay Attention to Blogs?. Greg Notess's recent On the Net column finds little value in blogs. Nonetheless, he cautions that librarians not turn their backs on the fad because of its potential in the area of content management. [TVC Alert]
This ONLINE article contains some very useful factual information about blogging. I found the section about Daypop and searching blogs to be quite helpful. The author mentions several bad things and a few good thing about blogging, and I'm not quite sure what he really thinks about his subject.

Usability Toolkit. Usability Toolkit "The Usability Toolkit is a collection of forms, checklists and other useful documents for conducting usability tests and user interviews." 9/3/2002 [Library Techlog]
I think that librarians could learn a lot from this. I have to admit that I didn't have the patience to view the Word docs on this particular page, but I found the Topics in Usability section very interesting, including the usability basics, FAQ and ethics section.

Al Macintyre's Radio Docs. Al Macintyre's Radio Doc Sources.
A great collection of links to Radio documentation, tips, tools, experts. I keep finding new, juicy things and ripe, proven resources. High editorial value. Thanks, Al. [a klog apart]
I'll second Terry's endorsement. If you're looking for a good place for Radio tips and tricks, Al's list is a great resource. [tins ::: Rick Klau's weblog]
Thank you, thank you, this should be helpful to a new Radio blogger (like me).

When I got to work, our university's network was totally down. No web, no email, no library system - one of these days I've got to install offline circulation here.
I use the web for so much of my work. I'm not much a reference librarian without access to our catalog - I am in awe of librarians who seem to have memorized where everything is in a large library, but I'm not one of them. I have grown dependent on this technology - which most of the time isn't a bad thing.
The obvious thing to do was to clean my neglected office. Of course, not long after I started this, and had made an even bigger mess, the network came back up. This afternoon I'll definitely need to pretend that the web is still down so I can finish my cleaning job.
