Caller ID just snagged another Halifax, NS call, its second of the day. It also nabbed two from Oromocto, NB - which is right across the border from Maine. The National Do Not Call Registry may stop them after September 1, but I doubt it. There's too much money at stake.

Another Guy With A Halo

I can't hear you! I can't see you! I'm casting you as the lead in a new movie, Dahmer's Feast. Hah! Isn't that ironic! Why are you not laughing, you beer-bloated Nazis? Are your minds too feeble to grasp irony?

A northern sunset courtesy of Rayne Today. You can catch occasional vacation updates from her on the comments section after this message. She'll be back soon (this weekend) and she'll probably be so soothed-out that she won't write a rant for a week.

I've enlarged the outlined shoreline portion of her photo. Well, really, it's actual size, I shrunk the photo. Whatever, catch the rays of the setting sun dancing on the waves as they lap the shore. Great timing on this shot, Rayne...

Blueberries were used by aboriginal Americans to make pemmican. They might be good for your mind, especially if you’re a rat:

James A. Joseph, chief of the center's Laboratory of Neuroscience, hopes to look closely at the mechanisms involved in a previous experiment, in which he found that old rats fed a blueberry-rich diet grew new neurons — meaning blueberries seemed to help reverse age-related short-term-memory loss. The rats also regained some balance and coordination. The results have yet to be found in human clinical trials.

Yummy, blueberry blintzes. Or check out today’s NYT for the perfect blueberry pie. Or how about a Blueberry Sorbet with Lemon and Tarragon Jus? Blueberry wine?
