A picture named image566331l.gif

Hey lookee!

CBS News has learned how to put animated GIFs on their site!

If you see anybody that looks like any of these guys, just kill him and collect $25 Million! You don't even have to buy a lottery ticket!

Say, doesn't that grey-haired one kinda resemble Walter Cronkite? Where does he live?

Special secret tip: They all have moustaches! (shhhh...) Not even the imminent threat of death could make this man shave his upper lip. 10% finder's fee for me if you kill a guy with a moustache and he turns out to be Saddam. Certain restrictions may apply, please consult your country's laws and the Geneva Convention before participating.

Monday, I had decided to put rip the 512MB stick of SDRAM from my AMD computer and move it on over to the Intel to give it a gig. However, the Intel system would not boot at all until I removed it again. Wednesday, I took the stick in to work and only got a 3-3-1 beep code when I tried to boot. Last night, I scrounged through my old receipts and discovered that the MSI motherboard and 512MB had been purchased 08/23/2002 - meaning it was still under warranty! I called Intrex Computers today and they found the old invoice and said I should come in and talk to the manager since they no longer stock PC2100 memory (talk about built-in obsolescence - this stuff has only been around a little over two years!). When I got to the store, however, it turned out they did have one stick still left in inventory. After testing my dead stick, they gave it to me.

So, the cost of getting computer #2 up and running has fallen dramatically this week. On Monday morning, I thought I would be out $500 for a new motherboad and 512Mb. Later that day, I thought it would be $75 for a new stick. Today, the bottom fell out of the project - no cost whatsoever!

That means I can buy a new kitchen toy! Yippee!
