A picture named sunset as isabel approaches.jpg

This doesn't make sense.

Red at morning
Sailor take warning
Red at night
Sailor's delight

But then I never was a sailor.

Hurricane Preparedness

If you have trouble finding bottled water, a suitcase of light beer will do. Also, you can live for days on nothing but pork rinds!

Looks like I got stuck in the cheap seats (that little green rectangle just left of center).

The Los Angeles Times OpEd page has an editorial today, Cheney in Wonderland, commenting on his continuing one-man misinformation campaign:

Cheney seems stuck in a time warp. He asserted "major success, major progress" in Iraq, and that Americans were being welcomed as "liberators." He claimed that the Iraqi government "had a relationship with Al Qaeda that stretched back through most of the decade of the '90s," a more sweeping time frame than others in the administration have ventured. Those in the administration who seek help from Europe and elsewhere can only hope that Cheney's speech is seen as something for domestic consumption, a pep talk for the public that is footing the bill.

The real cause for concern is not that he's telling more fibs. You can confront a liar with the truth and they'll shut up - but what if he's passed that "sign post up ahead" and crossed over into the wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination? That would be really serious because delusional people really believe the shit they're saying and, worse, think you're the crazy one for not believing them!
