This could be one of those dumb messages that say “test…test..test?”, you know, like to see if this is working. If it ain’t working, I’ll post it later. If it is working, I won’t have to look at a dumb message that says “test…test?” for the next 36 hours – and neither will anybody else.

This is definitely Brooklyn. In the distance I can see numerous tall pointy buildings, a lot more than there are in all of North Carolina. Not to worry, I ain’t gonna do the Andy Griffith Shtick either, except to say when you see a sign that says “Broadway” round here, they mean the REAL Broadway, not the fake one like we had in Columbus. Same for “Bedford Avenue,” though we didn’ t have one of those in Columbus.

Only experience so far here was a cab ride. Any Sam Sloan (http://www.ishipress.com/) fans here? He may have invented the blog, he’s been around the internet along, long time. He’s an NYC cabbie and master chess player. Now I understand how those two things go together – the combination of a razor sharp mind and a killer instinct. My cabbie from La Guardia was Sikh, very pleasant. Very polite. Until we got on the road – accelerate – BRAKE! – Accelerate- ACCELERATE! – brake – brake – BRAKE! – NEVER let anyone cut in front of you. People will honk at YOU if you do. Screech. In a detached and amused way, I enjoyed the ride. It has happened. I really am in freakin’ Brooklyn.

(pssst – test…test…test? – hehehehehehe)

I thought going to Brooklyn would be an exciting and inspirational kick in the pants for this blog, but so far it just seems like a unnecessary pain in the ass. I'll be there later today and Liz will watch the cats. Maybe I'll find some food that's inspirational once I'm there. Maybe I'll make a deal on the bridge...
