And when Afghanistan falls, the next domino lies the east. Pervez Musharraf at best is a puppet of the west, propped up by the will and determination of the US taxpayer’s dollar. When that falters, entropy will bring Pakistan back to equilibrium as a terrorist state at heart.
The main difference between Pakistan and Iraq, which minimally and arguably lusted for nuclear capability, is that Pakistan actually possesses and has already tested the bomb. When the strategic weakness of the Bush administration’s emphasis on Iraq materializes as civil war and chaos there, 30-50 primitive nuclear weapons will go up for bids on Jihad eBay.
I guess a rational person should ask what we’re doing about that likely possibility, now that we’ve tied our own hands in Iraq. So far, Bush's ideology driven agenda has a dismal track record for contingency planning, as evidenced by post-war befuddlement in Iraq, so I suspect nothing at all is being done in Pakistan. When one suicide bomber out of 5 succeeds, when one terrorist hijacking in ten succeeds, when one SAM of a hundred hits its target, it weighs as a victory on the terrorists' scale. What, in God's name. are we doing about those nukes?
