The secret number for today is 46.
Let Dr. Phil tell you how to incorporate it into your personal regimen and lose unwanted weight instantly. But first allow me to introduce myself, I am THOR – and if you fuck up I’ll throw my hammer at you and put some serious hurt on your spinal cord. Now let’s cut to Dan Rather, who has some important philosophical musings about frogs for us!
But first, a review of LET IT BE… NAKED, featuring John, Paul, Ringo, and George working their Liverpool magic without the heavy hand of Phil Spector interfering. They say his megalomania contributed to the friction that broke up the Beatles! I say, MR. Spector, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL OF SOUND and just go shoot someone.
The fans say, “welcome relief.” The Beatles, when confronted with the idea of a reunion concert, said, “You can’t reheat a soufflé.”
Maybe that was just wistful Paul – or maybe it was enigmatic John, I forget who was The Walrus, but I do know that once you you’ve baked the soufflé, it’s way, way too late to unfold the beaten egg whites.
Besides, if you haven’t eaten the damn thing by now, it’s better off in a dumpster because of the inevitable breakdown of organic materials that occurs over the course of 30 years. Why kick Mr. Spector in the crotch now that he’s down like a fallen souffle?
That said, this album is damn good, especially George’s guitar - up front and hot where it rightfully belongs.
Now, let’s go on back to Dan, who used to challenge Tricky Dick back in the days when Let It Be was originally recorded. He may have lost a step or two, and his integrity to boot, but he won’t retire until they kick him out. Damn, talk about a set-up, why didn’t the NYT just publish his prefab obit?

The annatto worked. About half a teaspoon with ¾ cup half-and-half, 2 tablespoons butter, and about 6 ounces Velveeta

Annatto is used to dye silk and color cheddar cheese. As Bixa Orellana, it is named after a failed conquistador, Francisco de Orellana:
…about 2000 Spaniards entered to Peruvian and Brazilian jungles, where most of them perished. Orellana abandoned the party and made his way eastward, where he (more or less by chance) discovered the Amazonas river and earned scientific fame quite undeservedly.
In English, it is commonly called Achiote and, in the UK proper, the plant was called a “lipstick tree” – evidence of another use.
Since it is nearly flavorless, it is used in many sauces. My plan for it is macaroni and cheese. I’m burned out from cooking after Thanksgiving, it’s cold, and I want some comfort food. Normally, I make sauce for macaroni and cheese from Velveeta, butter, and half-and-half, but that always comes out a lame, limp yellow. Then I saw an orange cheese powder mix in the King Arthur catalog (links to their online catalog don’t work) a couple of weeks back:
You know how the kids insist on that fluorescent orange macaroni and cheese in a box? Well, now you can buy just the Orange Cheese Powder, and make as much (or little) as you like. In 8-ounce bag.
Well, look out, here comes the annatto mac.

Guy With Beard Makes Amusing Noises!
He says “ferret,” then he says “merit,” wearing a big grin and a bushy black beard, making noises by beating on a box that has pieces of wire stretched across it. He don’t just talk, he seems to know what he’s saying. He says “cancer,” then he says “answer.” He looks like he’s having a good time and everyone listening seems to be having a good time too. He says “choosing,” then he says “amusing.” I enjoy it too, even though he doesn’t seem to stop to let anyone else talk. Why does he keep hitting that box? Why doesn’t he talk in a normal voice, like regular people? He says “mystery,” then he says “history.” It’s sort of interesting.
