Bad War -- Good Result    commentary by Steve Raker

We are all aware, I assume, that a bad action can have a good result.  Most of us who disagree with recent U.S. Iraq policy, are of the 'bad war, recent good result' group.  I think it's a position worthy of respect.  A lot of the world is now working backwards: good result, must be a good war.  Kind of a wishy washy group inasmuch as every large contrary result changes their minds about the value of the war.  Not so much respect there.  There will be other contrary results, both ways.  ...Imagine a husband cheating on his loving wife: bad policy, occasional good results(from a certain point of view).  But what is often not factored into an equation powered by a throbbing cock, the significant possibility of a hugely negative life-shattering result.  The Bush government is cheating the American people, with occasional good results.  ...Have you heard all the lapdog journalists promoting this exchange: "My name is Saddam Hussein. I am the president of Iraq and I want to negotiate."  the soldiers replied: "Regards from President Bush."  Given that this administration is batting about .059 in regards to the validity of their symbols, I wouldn't be carving this purported "snappy" exchange into any big rocks.  Can't you see Karl Rove's fingerprints all over this ready-made campaign slogan?  Color me cynic.               Steve
