A series of pictures from Steve Raker ...

Dogfun With Kleenex Box

A picture named poblano blossom.jpg

Promises To Keep

It doesn’t look like a bowl of chili, but when it grows up it will have a major role. It’s the first blossom in my window box pepper garden. No poblano, but it will be. There are also serrano, habanero, Anaheim, red hot cherry, and Tabasco plants, but no jalapenos. Those are dirt cheap at the grocery in the summer.

These plants won't make a serious contribution in the kitchen either. They are mainly out there for moral support. It's kinda like homemade sauerkraut or sourdough keeping good wild yeasts floating around in your air, only these plants are contributing miniscule amounts of capsaicin to the ambiance. They won't do any harm.
