US Troops Film Low Budget Sci-Fi Thriller

“Specialist Preston got this beauty DV camera from his folks,” explained Pfc. James C. Black, cuing the crane, “and I have this pirated copy of Premiere which lets you add some really nifty fades and special effects.”

“Yeah,” chimed in Spec. 5 Don Preston, “Jimmy is a regular genius when it comes to these things. When he’s finished, the Dodge will be a flying saucer and you won’t like, you know, even see the wires. There will be explosions and shit and we’ll add the fog machine in post-production. It will be really exciting climax when we rush into the bunker and rescue the Princess.”

A picture named finch feeding his baby.jpg

Here’s something unusual. The adult house finch is feeding the young one on the right. I thought birds would learn to crack seeds before they learned to fly, but I thought wrong. Junior sits patiently on the perch while daddy chows down and occasionally delivers a beak full of birdseed.

A picture named squirrel in the picture copy.jpg

These guys never give up! The weight of the squirrel on the cage pulls down the metallic leaves over the feeder openings, leaving the rodent without a meal.

FeederCam is up again for the day. It's overcast and threatening to rain (as it has nearly every day in June, usually not following through on it) so the light ain't the best. Maybe I can rig up something  for that, maybe not, all my lamps point up at the ceiling. I scared all the birds away getting the derned thing in focus, but they always come right back. Sometimes they will fly up while I'm watering the plants out there, not noticing me while I'm standing still. Then suddenly they see me and panic. Stupid birds.
