Entire Country Prepares To Cop Insanity Plea

SACRAMENTO Advertisements will begin running on cable television stations statewide Monday backing a constitutional amendment that would let Governor Schwarzenegger and other foreign-born citizens run for president.

It would be really funny if it were happening in Central America, some other country: former Mr. Universe, pot-smoker, and serial ass-grabber made eligible to run the whole enchilada - by grace of a constitutional amendment! The disenfranchised can only scratch their heads and wonder whether that amendment will pass before the one prohibiting state-sanctioned buggery. As long as we’re being forced to live in a bad movie, we might as well have a bad actor as our leader. What the fuck - after he FUBARs America, we can always blame the foreigner.

Cellular Phone Explosion

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Gunmen on motorcycles shot and killed a Buddhist martial arts teacher and two bombs wounded at least 10 people in Thailand's restive south on Friday in apparent revenge for the deaths of 85 Muslims, police said.

They also said experts defused a bomb planted in the residential quarters of a police station in a compound also housing a primary school and designed to be set off by mobile phone.

He was killed by a cellular phone explosion
They scattered his ashes across the ocean
The water was used to make baby lotion
The wheels of promotion were set into motion

When Fountains Of Wayne sang about a “cellular phone explosion” in Mexican Wine last year, I thought it was whimsical, a hip reference to the urban legend or phenomenal growth of the industry. Maybe a pun on the common mispronunciation of "nuclear." Now there is a another, more direct, more sinister implication.

The phone does not care who or what answers, convential human or nuclear detonator. It merely rings, in response to an electronic pulse, when summoned. It requires a much lower level of committment than must be programmed into a suicide bomber. By the time the call is traced, the damage is already done. Look for more defensive jamming, like is already happening in some churches, as our ever-vigilant government realizes this vulnerability in the home front war on terrorism.

Ideally, the secret GPS in cell phones would send an alert to central command when the phone is activated in a "*cell-free zone," allowing officials to issue an alert and respond immediately when an unauthorized phone enters a sensitive area. God, those guys are so smart! It's so obvious! Why didn't I think of that?

With nuclear, as in horseshoes, "close" still scores, of course - but I'm sure they have a plan for that as well.

*“cell-free zone” defined: Prominent signs are posted at all access points to the perimeter, warning that all cellular devices using conventional public frequencies must be turned off before crossing “the line.” This warning includes the threat that all unauthorized intrusions will be detected and the visible security forces will arrest violators. Not much worse than airports today.
