A picture named cranberry orange loaves with booze.jpg

The Baker’s Joy did allow the cranberry orange loaves to release quickly from the pan, but with no particular advantage from the flour in the spray. The loaves jumped back into the pan after I accidentally spilled some Grand Marnier in it.

“The original no-stick baking spray with flour”

I’m going to test this product on my Pampered Chef 4-miniloaf pan. There’s enough leftover dried cranberries and fresh oranges to make the recipe that came with the baking pan, so why not? The goal is 4 cranberry-orange baking powder leavened loaves.

Can’t Stop!

Early Friday morning, about 1am, I woke up and Liz was still awake. She had completely cleaned up the kitchen and even washed the kitchen towels. Reinvigorated, and with the kitchen reloaded, I made a couple of loaves of bread. Later, as Liz napped, I went out and bought a ham. I put it in a roasting pan, poured a beer in the bottom, tented it with foil and let it bake slowly. Later in the day, we had ham sandwiches. Still later, we had reheated turkey and roast potatoes with leftover pomegranate gravy.

This morning, I cleaned all remaining scraps of meat from the turkey carcass. Liz said it would make a good base for split pea soup. So I’m roasting carrots, onions, garlic, and celery for stock. There’s that leafy parsley, the “wrong” kind, that will go into the simmer too. Nothing will be wasted.
