Here’s a new chili sauce I found today. It’s in a “convenient microwaveable tray.” In very fine print, the label states it is made by Market Placements, LLC Destin, FL. I didn’t think Aunt Bee made chili sauce in Mayberry. Say, did I ever tell you that the real Aunt Bee retired to Siler City, BC, just down the road a piece? Yeah, when I first moved to Carolina, I talked to some guys who went to Siler City, out of boredom, I guess, and saw her walking down the street there. They went crazy! “Aunt Bee! Aunt Bee!” they shouted, honking the horn and waving, Then, you know what Aunt Bee (actress Frances Bavier) did? No she didn’t wave back, she didn’t smile. Nope. She gave them the finger! That’s right, the royal bird, right out there on the bucolic streets of Siler City where God and everybody could see. Yep, she flipped ‘em off, that's what Aunt Bee did.     8:40:46 PM    comment []
