Heard on the BBC (reference Sin City review) – “our report of guns, corruption, and violence – but first, the news…”

Government Financed Report Says Bush Is Not A Liar

That report on the failure of US intelligence agencies regarding the existence of WMDs is just another piece of tax dollar subsidized right wing propaganda, like the bogus news reports distributed to Fox affiliates. Bush had decided to invade Iraq long before he and his toadies moved into the White House to find the bogus missing “W” keys on computer keyboards. He wanted to prove that he was not the wimp his father was, stopping just above the Kuwait border instead of going in for the kill.

Foreign press reports routinely dismissed each successive report of weapons finds while the domestic press cowered. Anyone who cared to read them realized there were substantial doubts, but those who expressed them – such as Scott Ritter and Hans Blix – were routinely villified in the steroid enhanced right wing press. If you doubted the existence of WMDs, you were "unpatriotic" or worse - "encouraging terrorists." The French were "cowards" because they didn't get duped. The truth was deliberately and methodically marginalized.

In the end, it didn’t matter at all once the decision was made “to sell the war” starting in the autumn of 2002. Just because a whole shitload of Gannonites played along with a wink and a nudge doesn’t mean that the President was misled. He was doing the misleading and the truth was regarded as a simple obstacle. The WMD report, attempting to lay the blame elsewhere, is just a bigger lie to cover up the obvious. IT is 632 pages of pure state-sanctioned horseshit. I can smell it from here. It stinks.
