Stan Lee Sues Marvel Over Spider-Man Rights Well, it finally happened. Stan Lee, the gregarious pitch-man and mastermind of the comic book super-hero revival of the 1960s has become the latest victim of his own company's greed-headed business practices. Apparently miffed that mighty Marvel misreported some of his peerless profits, Stan the Man is about to face front in a federal courtroom, hoping Marvel will award him more than just a no-prize for his creative prowess. In the knowing words of one poster at Newsarama, the comic book industry news site, I just can't believe Marvel would trample upon anyone's rights, let alone good ol' Stan's. It just runs so contrary to the way the company has done business throughout the years. Indeed, if Marvel will screw Stan Lee, who among us is safe? One wonders how, or if, this will affect Spider-Man's reclusive co-creator, artist Steve Ditko, who received no million-dollar salary, no contract, and barely even a credit on the feature. 3:49:13 PM    Emphasize This! []
